Baby class adventures
Yesterday hubz and I went to our first baby class at St Joseph’s where I’ll probably deliver baby girlzo.
We learned infant CPR and how babies can’t wear sunscreen until their at least 6 months old. This discouraged me, because the only fantasy that keeps me getting out of bed in the morning is taking the little girl swimming this coming summer. My teacher advised me to put her in the pool with...

Lemonade: People Were Totally Crying - AgencySpy →
Lemonade is a new documentary about people losing their jobs in the ad industry. It previewed last night in Times Square and this link has a great lil’ clip. Apparently, it’s good juice. “It’s not a pink slip, it’s a blank page.” Loves it!
Perhaps one must be an ad vet to appreciate this perspective of remaining creative and “interesting” while out...
Redesigning Valentine's Day
Someone over at Fast Company has launched a contest to redesign the day we heart most.
Read Get Your Heart On (Or, Er, Off): Take the Redesign Valentine’s Day Challenge | Designerati | Fast Company and check out some of the favorite picks yet. I might work on this later in what I’m sure will turn out to be yet another insomnia-filled Tuesday morning.
On top of being hugely pregnant...

How to use a semicolon - The Oatmeal →
Cute cartoons explaining how to properly use a semi-colon. Remember, it’s all about the INDEPENDENT clauses, people. Don’t use a semi just to replace a comma, which often separates DEPENDENT clauses. Happy grammar 101 (seriously, the dinos are so worth checking this link out).
Lloyd Dobbler Come to Life
Our second date was in late August.
We met at 1st Avenue and 14th Street, upstairs from the L train station. He waited for me, very tall and thin, on the east side of the street resting back on the subway entrance fencing, one foot stuck behind him and arms stretched open back into his lean. Almost as if he were waiting to hug me.
It became our meeting place thereafter.
I emerged from the...

Sunlight = less depression
Let’s face it: the weather in NYC is pretty unfavorable most of the year. You have a window in May and another in late September/early October. Otherwise, the weather sucks. One becomes accustomed to sweating through all types of textiles, re-applying makeup at Sephora between work and happy hour, buying new clothes in Manhattan halfway through a Saturday because it’s easier than...
Foursquare Beats Yelp and Gowalla in Reader Poll →
So, Foursquare continues to pop up in my little brain triggers and it’s yet another service I must learn… wow. How will I keep up with all this mobile madness when my head blows off into baby land? Guess I better get that Droid ASAP.

This fascinating read will clue you in on the precursors to yesterday’s goofy announcement about John Edwards’ fathering his campaign videographer’s baby.

I’m not a tea junkie, but I do enjoy the notion of a tea party that features pastries. This little diddy gives a few tips on where to find all the little condiments you need to host a perfect tea party pie.
Does Denver Exist on Denverette?
In a word, yes.
You might be wondering why NYC has suddenly re-entered the picture on this blog.
Here’s why: Denverette is being relaunched, and I felt it necessary to define myself as an adult and explain how I arrived in this city. I didn’t just drive to Denver after college one day and squat.
While I was raised as a child, adolescent and very young adult in Kansas, I grew up as...

– Walt Whitman, Crossing Brooklyn Ferry, Leaves of Grass
Some people go to priests; others to poetry; I to my friends.
– Virginia Woolf
I've relocated!
Yes, after a year and a half, it was time.
Not only was Denverette feeling aesthetically dated, but I was physically and emotionally spent. So I pulled a Madonna and decided to switch things up.
So, Tumblr is Denverette’s new home. There will be many new changes and I hope to stylize Denverette to be more of a personal journey of creativity, writing and a way to capture the new stage of my...
